This is important ⤵️

Most people say they want success.

A successful business.
A successful life.
A successful marriage.

But spend way more of their time focusing on what could go wrong and what would happen if they failed than on what could go right and what would happen if they succeeded.

Do a quick mental check-in with yourself right now around the big thing you want to create in your life. You know the one I’m talking about!

Are you spending more of your time in fear, worry and anxiety around it or in fun, excitement and positivity?

Focus on the latter and you’ll hack your way into it every time.

I am not at all saying that there is no room for fear (there is!). I’m saying that dwelling there is the killer and learning to move through it is everything 🙌🏼.

Agree? Disagree?

And for my existing business owners - can we have a collective WAHOO for the fact that it’s 2023 and running successful online businesses from home is possible?

But that doesn’t always mean it’s EASY.

It’s hard to unlearn corporate conditioning and being your own boss.

That’s why I like to share content like this to remind you that you do NOT have to do ANYTHING you don’t want to do.

In that same breath, I’m honest enough to share that this also takes time to figure out.

Just know with every bad experience in business-owning comes a great lesson in what you want to continue to do and what no longer works.

This part of traveling with kids ⤵️

Seeing things through their eyes 👀.

I spent the first 8 years of my professional career traveling the US producing corporate events.

I’ve stayed in many a nice hotel. I’ve been to incredible restaurants. And after a few years I became jaded.

But when I started traveling again with Max I saw the magic a crispy, fluffy hotel bed can be, jumped up and down when room service showed up with dessert and learned again to appreciate the joy that is travel.

We got to spend a quick 48 hours in Ft Lauderdale with some of Bens very best friends (some from middle school!) this last weekend.

Our hotel pool days have changed and we opted for the chill pool over the one with the live DJ and it was so wild to watch our kids play together.

Already planning our next trip(s)! Up next is back to Universal and Kauai in July (sans Max because I’m not brave enough for that flight with him 🫠).

Recreation and Leisure Services Administration
(yes, I could have been Leslie Knope)

Yes - that’s an actual field of study and there are a few reasons I chose it.

First, I couldn’t pass College Algebra so I had to change my major from Psychology to something with a lower math requirement.

Second, my grandbig from my sorority was in it and I thought she hung the moon so…it sounded good at the time.

Third, if there’s something I excel at it’s absolutely leisure 🤣.

I found out late last year that I have ADHD and it’s been eye opening, humbling and such a relief to know my “faults” are actually just part of how my unique brain works.

Any other ADHD business owners out there feel me on forgetfulness, too? Tell me I’m not alone 🤪.

People often ask me how to stand out in a “crowd

People often ask me how to stand out in a “crowded” market.

It’s not hard.

Most people are only willing to do the bare minimum.

➡️ When you truly care about the work you do.

➡️ When you care about being a good person.

➡️ When you honor the people who pay you.

It’s easy.

Because word travels fast when you do good work and when you care.

And while sketchy sales tactics work for some, when you run a business from a place of integrity you can sleep at night and enjoy the business you’ve created.

And to me - that’s how you stand out.
